I just finished a book "Evidence for Heaven". Well I already know that Heaven is real but this book really reinforces my faith in God. I was so touched after reading it. Also, I really don't like those people who say that they meditate not to see Heaven but to end suffering. (I saw on the Lifestyle about this rising group of young people who believe in some other 'gods')
They are not Christians so when they say things like that I can tolerate but it really hurt me within as they do not know God. They do not like it that Christians just lapped in whatever that they were preached and then just meekly accept, without doing some thinking on their part. I guess these people don't like the feeling of being manipulated. Then I would like to ask them if they have become better persons without knowing God and Jesus Christ. Have they really been transformed into a better person with themselves taking charge of their own lives. Nobody like someone else to control their lives. But Jesus Christ is not someone else. He is God's son in the living flesh. He is human before and so he understands the pain and suffeing that we have to go through. Without Him we won't even have the chance to be with our Father. He sacrificed Himself without any hesitation because when He looked at us, He does not see mere humans who are foolish in their own ways but He sees beautiful children of God and even those who still are adament on accepting Him, He still yearn so much to take us into His arms and embrace us, to dote on us and love us unconditionally. That is the love of Jesus Christ. God is the only one who is able to love us like this. Even as we doubt His existence and about the holiness of Him, he still loves us. Within a heartbeat He would still have chosen to die for us on he cross, even though He knows how unappreciative of Him we would be in the future when He is not pysically with us any longer. That is when more idols would be crafted to replace Him as Gods. Beautiful and painstakingly made, they were wonderful art pieces of humans but to worship them as spiritual gods? How do they know that their 'gods' had went inside those cold bodies and just lie inside there to watch over them quietly? True, they deny that they do not worship the idols but still! They feel insecure without those inaminate objects and why are they still so respectful for those statues that they claim they do not worship?
I was lost once, before I knew God. Really. Maybe you would think that I was so crappish and sentimental that I would write about these kind of things like God's love and bla bla. But why would I feel so strongly compelled to do so? The answer is simple. It is because I had experienced God and I know for sure that He is real. He is omnipresent and it doesn't mean that He is not there even when you don't see Him! It is truly so heartbreaking to see so many people who still do not know God, Much as I like to preach to them strongly and make them realise the truth, I can't do that. Because God is gentle. He doesn't force people at all. You want to invite Jesus into your heart, He would be so glad. But if you want to lead your life as you want to and push Him out of your mind and choose to go to hell, He won't force you either. So many clues He had planted before you to lead you to Him but if you still choose to disregard Him, that's just too bad. One more child lost from Him and trapped in the hellfire for eternity and Satan is rejoicing for having one new slave. It's sad.
Okay. So I was saying about this book that I had read. The authors were Christians but they went to question. They interviewed over a hundred people who have had near-death experiences (NDE). These people were on the brink of death then were clinically dead as their hearts had stopped beating. But then they miraculously came back to life. They all recounted a series of events that they witnessed. What's most amazing is that their accounts were the same and were consistent.
All of them had found themselves travelling in a dark tunnel, feeling weightless and moving as though without legs. Then they saw a bright light admisdt all those darkness. They hurried towards it and the light got brighter and brighter until it was so intensifying unlike any other bright lights they had seen before. The light was extremely bright but they did not shy away from it, instead they want to become as close to it as possible. All of them felt a strange feeling of serenity, peace and calmness. Also, they all felt a great sense of love. Overwhelming love they felt in the presence of the light. It was as though all hatred and anger for past things had dissolved in their hearts. The love they sensed was amazing. It was just love at its purest, without any implications. Some of them even had loved ones who were already dead come and receive them. Much as they liked to stay by the being of light forever, all of them had to go back. Some of them were told to go back quickly while others had tasks still unfinished. They all went back reluctantly and when they returned to their physical bodies, they felt unpleasant, like jumping into a pool of cold water.
This is just the general things that they experienced. The people involved who tried to remove further doubts about heaven, did several things. E.g. They interviewed young children who had NDE before due to their less chances of lieing. The results were very encouraging as they all led to the one conclusion that Heaven and hell truly exist.
Propagandic the book may sound like but whatever the tone, it remains a fact that the doctors or scientists-turned-investigators had a neutral attitude towards Christianity at first. In fact some of them disbeliefed it it intitially. They approached their investigations without any bias and were amazed at the results they obtained, You could say that they were converted upon seeing the astounding evidences. How about you. With hard cold evidences presented before you, would you choose to accept or reject?
